IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has asked employees at its Nashik office to work from home as a precaution, citing safety and convenience amid ongoing allegations at the facility.

The move comes as authorities continue to investigate claims of religious conversion and sexual harassment linked to the TCS Nashik office.

According to Times of India’s reports, Nashik Police have stepped up the probe. They have reached out to agencies, including the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), and state intelligence units to assist in the investigation.

Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik said the action follows concerns being shared on social media about possible extremist links or foreign funding tied to the case. He clarified that there is no evidence so far to support such claims, the report said. The involvement of multiple agencies is aimed only at ensuring a thorough and coordinated review of the matter.

Officials said nine FIRs have been filed based on complaints from employees. These include allegations of sexual harassment, intimidation, and attempts to pressure individuals into religious conversion, according to the report.

So far, six employees and an assistant general manager have been arrested. Another accused, a woman, is still absconding. Police said some of those arrested held senior or supervisory roles and are accused of misusing their positions to target junior staff.

The report said that investigators have observed that certain names appear repeatedly across multiple complaints, pointing to what they believe could be a pattern of behaviour within the office.

Among those named are women employees as well, including a senior HR official. She is accused of discouraging a complainant from taking the matter forward and failing to properly escalate the issue internally.

Authorities said an operations manager has been remanded to judicial custody. The investigation is now also looking into whether there was any lapse at an organisational level in addressing the complaints.
